How We Do It
The 7 Steps to Success
1. Consultation
We meet with you to discuss your current situation, needs and expected results. This is a no-obligation meeting where you can get a feel for whether we would be the right fit for your company and we can answer any questions you might have about our philosophy, methodology and results.
2. Needs Analysis & Objective Setting
At this stage we work with you to identify problem areas, develop specific learning objectives and outline an appropriate learning solution. This stage could involve staff assessments, interviews and document and policy reviews.
3. Program Development/Customisation
Depending on the results of the Needs Analysis we may choose to develop a program from scratch or customise an already existing program to specifically address your needs.
4. Interactive Program Execution
All Hansen Communication Lab programs, whether in a group setting or one-on-one, are interactive, high-energy and participant-centred learning experiences. Participants immediately apply their learning in practical, work-specific activities.
5. Program & Participant Evaluations
Participants are given feedback and support throughout their course and can have written final evaluations if required by the client. We also use audio and video recording where appropriate to track the progress of participants. Participants are asked to evaluate their program as well so we can
determine the impact of the course from the participant's perspective.
6. Learning Implementation
The training doesn't end when the program ends. Rather, we work with you to ensure that new learning points get implemented on-the-job. For example, we might develop a follow-up system for line managers so they can check in with staff to further enforce their learning.
7. Follow-up Training and/or Boosters
The key to long-term retention and implementation of learning is ongoing reminders and review. Depending on the client and their needs, we can offer any of the following to further reinforce learning:
- evaluations after 30/60/90 days
- follow-up boosters via podcast or email
- online learning portal with articles, video and audio
- monthly reminder emails with helpful tips and content review
- follow-up talks/mini-workshops to evaluate progress and provide guidance
