English Language Specialists

Hansen Communication Lab Pte Ltd is looking for experienced, native-English-speaking language trainers based in Singapore to run one-on-one and small group courses on a contract basis in:

• Speech training & pronunciation
  

• English Language for Business
  

Speech Training/Pronunciation:

The chosen candidates will have excellent ears and be strong communicators. They have prior knowledge of the phonetic alphabet, and have probably had training in linguistics, TEFL, speech and drama, speech therapy and/or voice coaching. They will be able to teach the precise details of every element of English pronunciation, including how to formulate all the vowel and consonant sounds, and how to use word and sentence stress and intonation to communicate more effectively.

English Language:

These trainers will be very strong communicators with experience in teaching English as a foreign language to individuals and groups. They definitely have a TEFL or Applied Linguistics degree of some kind, and possibly an advanced degree in Education as well. They are native English speakers and have an understanding of the distinctions between different accents, dialects and varieties of English around the world, especially in Asia. They can clearly and easily explain these differences to participants and tailor courses to participants’ needs. A business background and understanding of corporate communication and its many challenges is ideal, but not required.

All candidates will have experience teaching one-on-one and in groups of up to 30 participants. They are comfortable using interactive training methods to ensure that all learning is participant-centred. They are organized, reliable, and have strong people skills.
